I-9's in 2010

New Passport Card. US citizens are allowed to have a Passport Card and/or a US Passport. The Passport Card is only valid for land and sea travel to Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. It is intended for frequent border crossers as a convenience. The Passport Card is an acceptable document for Form I-9 purposes.

Current Version of Form I-9. You can download the latest Form I-9 at http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-9.pdf  Note: the new I-9 form, compliant with the current List of Acceptable Documents, is now available for use (beginning April 3, 2009).  Also, expired documents are no longer acceptable.

Latest M-274 Handbook for Employers. You can download the latest Handbook at http://www.uscis.gov/files/nativedocuments/m-274.pdf   Note: The latest version of the Form I-9 is published in the Handbook.

Spanish Version of Form I-9. The Spanish version may ONLY be used for employers located in Puerto Rico, or as a translation guide elsewhere.  You may download the latest Spanish Form I-9 at http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-9_Spanish_Rev_01-29-09.pdf
